How it works
The browser decodes one JPG, PNG, or WebP image. No form submission or file upload is used.
Enter the target KB and maximum edge. Choose JPEG for compatibility or WebP for modern delivery.
A quality search stays below the target when practical. Automatic resizing is used only when quality is not enough.
Know the trade-offs
Two images with the same dimensions can compress very differently. Faces, foliage, noise, gradients, screenshots, and text each respond differently to lossy encoding. Inspect the preview and keep the original file.
JPEG cannot preserve transparency; this tool composites transparent pixels onto the selected background. Choose WebP when transparency must remain and the destination supports it.
No. The file is decoded, compressed, previewed, and downloaded inside this browser. The page does not send the image to UtiliVera.
No. A very small target may require fewer pixels or unacceptable quality. Enable automatic resizing or use a larger limit.
PNG is lossless and cannot reliably meet a strict small target for complex photographs. JPEG and WebP expose quality controls; use WebP when transparency must remain.
