What the tool does not hide
WebP and JPG are not interchangeable.
JPG cannot store transparency or animation. Transparent pixels are composited onto your chosen color, and an animated WebP becomes its first decoded frame. Because JPEG is lossy, conversion can add generation loss.
Keep the original WebP as the master and use JPG only where broad compatibility is required.

What happens to transparent pixels?+
JPEG has no transparency. The tool composites them onto the background color you choose before encoding.

The browser canvas produces one static decoded frame. Keep the WebP when animation must remain.
