CAD to PNG and PDF
How to Convert DWG, DXF, DGN, or PLT to PNG and PDF
CAD conversion is reliable only when the loader understands units, model and paper layouts, named layers, and multipage output. A generic screenshot may look acceptable while silently omitting a layer or scaling the drawing incorrectly.
Open the CAD file in UtiliVera Image, inspect its layouts and layers, choose the engineering unit and exact layout, select or exclude layers, then export PNG for raster review or PDF for pages. The same settings work in the GUI, a recipe, CLI, and watched folders.

Add the DWG, DXF, DGN, or PLT file and open Professional tools. Use Inspect selected CAD file to read the available layouts and layers from the drawing instead of guessing their names.
For DWG and DXF, choose model space, all paper spaces, all layouts, or an exact named layout. DGN V7 exposes Levels as layers and truthfully reports model space rather than inventing AutoCAD-style paper layouts. PLT/HPGL pages and pen layers are handled explicitly.
Choose units and scale deliberately
Auto keeps the source interpretation. You can also choose millimeters, inches, feet, meters, or centimeters. Unit conversion changes the engineering bounds by the exact expected ratio before rendering.
Do not use pixel dimensions alone to validate a CAD conversion. Check the recorded CAD bounds and unit metadata, then compare a known dimension in the result.
Select layers without losing information
Choose all layers, include selected layers, or exclude selected layers. Enter exact names or wildcard patterns when a project uses consistent naming such as A-WALL-* or MEP-*.
Enable per-layer export when reviewers need one page per selected layer. Otherwise, selected layers are composited into each requested layout. The output report records every generated file.
Use grayscale and automation consistently
Grayscale is a CAD-loading decision, applied before the ordinary image edit pipeline. It produces equal red, green, and blue channels rather than merely changing the interface preview.
Save the settings as a recipe for repeat jobs. Use the recipe from the CLI or attach it to a watch folder so new drawings are converted with the same unit, layout, layer, and grayscale policy.
Verified release
Test the workflow, not a marketing promise.
Version 0.8.0 scored 97.1/100 in an independent final audit with no P0 or P1 findings. Its frozen evidence manifest binds 23 test artifacts to the published executable.

Can I export each CAD layer as a separate page?+
Yes. Select the layers and enable per-layer page export.
Can I choose one named paper layout?+
Yes for formats that contain named layouts, including the verified DWG and DXF paths.
Does the conversion work offline?+
Yes. The bundled lightweight CAD paths run locally; optional professional packs are used only for additional solid CAD/BIM coverage.
